PAYMENT

Cash, Debit or Credit cards are accepted as your method of Payment. You must pay for your service at the time of your visit. You may also pay online at the time you booked your session. If you have insurance, you must still pay for your session, but some insurance companies will take your receipt of service and reimburse you. It is recommended that you check with your insurance company to find out if your therapeutic massage services are covered and if they have restrictions on your insurance policy.

CANCELLATIONS and NO SHOWS

I respectfully ask that you provide me with a 24 hour notice of any schedule changes or cancellation requests. Please understand that when you cancel or miss your appointment without providing a 24 hour notice I am often unable to fill that appointment time. This is an inconvenience to your therapist and also means my other clients miss the chance to receive services they need. For this reason, if you cancel three times within the 24 hour period, you will have to prepay for your massage services and will be charged the full amount of your service if canceled within that 24 hour period.

I understand that emergencies can arise and illnesses do occur at inopportune times. If you have a fever, a known infection, or have experienced vomiting or diarrhea within 24 hours prior to your appointment time, I request that you cancel your session. Inclement weather may also result in the need for late cancellations. I will do my best to give advanced notice if I am closing or need to cancel due to bad weather and I ask you to do the same. Please do not risk your own safety trying to make your appointment. Late cancellation due to emergency, illness, or inclement weather will generally not result in any missed session charges, but this is determined on a case-by-case basis.

LATE ARRIVALS

I request that you arrive 5-10 minutes early to your appointment time to allow time to fill out any required paperwork as well as answer any intake questions your therapist may have. I understand that issues can arise that may cause you to be late for your appointment. However, I ask that you call to inform me if this ever occurs so I can do my best to accommodate you. Appointment times are reserved for each client, so oftentimes I cannot exceed that reserved time without making the next client late. For this reason, arriving after your appointment time may result in loss of time from your massage so that your session ends at the scheduled time. Full service fees will be charged even when sessions are shortened due to late arrival. In return, I will do my best to be on time, and if I am unable to do so I will add time to your session to make up for my late arrival or adjust the service charge accordingly.

PERSONAL HYGEINE

I request that you bathe or shower prior to your appointment for your health and safety, as some natural bacteria on our skin can cause illness and discomfort.

DRAPING

Clients are covered and draped with sheets and a blanket, only uncovering the body part to be worked on.  If for some reason, you feel uncomfortable with your draping, it will be adjusted to your comfort level.

INTAKE FORM and MEDICAL HISTORY CONFIDENTIALITY

I will begin your session with a brief review of your health history as I review your health intake form. This is an important process to determine the course of treatment that will best meet your needs. During this time you will need to disclose information about your medical history to rule out any contraindications for massage. In some cases, you may be asked to provide a written release from your primary care physician in order to receive massage. Your intake form and medical records will be held confidential. In some cases, the information from your massage sessions may be shared with other health care providers, but only with your written permission.

COMMUNICATION

During sessions, clients are encouraged to relax and inform the practitioner immediately if anything makes them uncomfortable, either physically or psychologically, so adjustments can be made. Though talking may occur during the session, you will be encouraged to save conversation for afterward, as it takes away from your experience of deep relaxation and contact with your self, as well as the practitioners focus during the massage.

NO SMOKING

There is no smoking permitted in my practice, and please, refrain from doing so immediately prior to the session. I reserve the right to refuse treatment to any client who has an overabundance of nicotine odor on their skin.

NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS

I reserve the right to refuse treatment to any client who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs

SEXUAL HARRASSMENT

Massage therapy is for relaxation and therapeutic purposes only. There is absolutely no sexual component to massage whatsoever. Any insinuation, joke, gesture, conversation, or request otherwise will result in immediate termination of your session and a refusal of any and all services in the future. You will be charged the full service fee regardless of the length of your session. Depending on the behavior exhibited I may also file a report with the local authorities if necessary. Treat your therapist with respect and dignity and you will be treated the same in return.
